Show Notes

Dennis heads down the 5 Freeway to Orange, CA to visit the office/studio of Kc Wayland, creator of the popular zombie-themed audio drama "We're Alive," which is heading into its sixth season with a 7th already in development. Kc talks about the original idea for the series, his techniques for working with actors, building an enthusiastic fan base with no paid advertising and the frustration of getting his thunder stolen by TV's "The Walking Dead" shortly after launching his first season. He also discusses the how-to book he wrote about audio dramas, "Bombs Always Beep," and why he thinks it's important to share his trade secrets with aspiring creators. He also talks about his producing work on "Bronzeville" a 2016 audio drama that starred Larenz Tate and Laurence Fishburne. Other topics include: getting signed by Paradigm, that time he met George R. R. Martin, serving in the army in Iraq and the thing that surprised him about prison elevators. www.waylandproductions.com
