Show Notes
Dennis visits the Silver Lake-ish home of Joel Craig, the man behind the new graphic novel Journey to Gaytopia, which is about two broke LA actors who have just been cast on "The Julianne Moore and Madonna Half-Hour Comedy Hour" but during filming Madonna gets kidnapped by Faye Dunaway's evil twin Mae Dunaway who lives in a parallel universe and the boys have to go and rescue Madonna. Joel talks about the inspiration for the novel, how text and the visuals come together, why he loves Julianne Moore, LGBT representation in graphic novels, growing up in Nashville, becoming a nurse, working with older people and his first memory of L.A. Other topics include: meeting his husband in a theater group, making a music video called "Bad Boys, Black Leather," his favorite bad movie, his thing for Patrick Duffy and that time The Room director Tommy Wiseau wanted him to cry on cue.
