Show Notes
Dennis visits the Koreatown office of Tommy Honton, who along with his business/writing partner Don DeLeon, is opening a new escape room in L.A. called Stashhouse, which takes place in a drug dealer's swanky apartment. Tommy talks about the soul-sucking corporate job he had before deciding to get into the escape room game, his favorite parts of the creation process, the escape room tropes he tries to avoid and why he thinks escape rooms have exploded at this particular time in our culture. He also discusses the list he keeps of things that inspire him, the new film he co-wrote called "Public Disturbance," why he's not that into celebrating his birthday, the thrill of discovering scavenger hunts as a kid, getting fired from a Disney job he had for nearly ten years and the lie he told that helped him land that job. Other topics include:the fabulous one-night-only immersive event he worked on for HBO inspired by "Big Little Lie," the craziest thing he's done in pursuit of a crush, the kids theater production he starred in that haunts his dreams and the big-time director he wrote a fan letter to in high school...and the response he got back. www.stashhou.se
