Show Notes
Dennis visits the Hollywood Hills of playwright, filmmaker and performer Del Shores to discuss his new one-man play "Six Characters In Search of a Play," which opens in Los Angeles on February 25th at the Celebration Theatre. He breaks down the six different characters he depicts in the piece, including a monkey-obsessed lesbian, a favorite aunt, an actress hellbent on dying before Trump takes office, a mouthy waitress, a closeted Southern gay man and his own mother who also happened to be his high school drama teacher. Del also talks about the three-year odyssey of getting his most recent film "A Very Sordid Wedding," financed, shot, edited and out there by barnstorming the country. He also talks about having his plays produced in places as far away as London, how play royalties work, the difference between writing plays and writing for television shows like "Queer as Folk" and "Dharma and Greg," the actresses he'd love to work with and the gift he got when he was three that meant everything. www.delshores.com
